This week: Congress in recess after key bills, Otsuka confirmation
After wrapping up some end-of-year work, including passing the National Defense Authorization Act, both chambers are in recess until 2024. In addition, the Senate confirmed Tanya Otsuka to the NCUA Board prior to the year-end recess. Otsuka will replace NCUA Board member Rodney Hood, who termed out in August. Otsuka’s term on the NCUA Board will run through Aug. 2, 2029.
NAFCU will remain engaged on credit union priorities during the recess. Credit unions can get involved by using the association’s Grassroots Action Center.
Additionally, credit unions can register for 2024 events. As members of CUNA and NAFCU approved the merger of the two organizations to form America’s Credit Unions, the associations have released the 2024 event lineup. All credit union members can attend the events at member pricing.
Check out the lineup and register for 2024 events now.
