NAFCU recognizes 2020 Annual Award winners for outstanding achievements
NAFCU Tuesday announced the eight winners of its 2020 Annual Awards, which honor member credit unions and credit union professionals and volunteers for excellence and achievement in the industry. This year's awards recognized the CEO of the Year, Professional of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Credit Union of the Year in each of two asset-size categories: $250 million or less, and more than $250 million.
“This year’s award winners have demonstrated their exceeding commitment to strengthening the credit union industry,” says NAFCU Awards Committee Chairman Keith Sultemeier, president and CEO of Kinecta Federal Credit Union. “NAFCU is honored to recognize these winners for their efforts to change the industry for the better and their ability to facilitate the industry’s mission of providing exceptional financial services for their communities.”
Award winners are listed below; they will also be featured in the November-December edition of The NAFCU Journal.
CEO of the Year
- Lourdes Cortez, North Jersey Federal Credit Union ($250 million or less)
- Karen Harbin, Commonwealth Credit Union (more than $250 million)
Professional of the Year
- Laramie Cummings, Marketing & Compliance Manager, Wyo Central Federal Credit Union ($250 million or less)
- Alicia Quevedo, Senior Vice President and Chief Membership Officer, Power Financial Credit Union (more than $250 million)
Volunteer of the Year
- Donald Bock, New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union ($250 million or less)
- Vice Admiral John A. Lockard, Navy Federal Credit Union (more than $250 million)
Credit Union of the Year
- Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union ($250 million or less)
- U.T. Federal Credit Union (more than $250 million)
Award winners will also be recognized during next month's Virtual Congressional Caucus, where hundreds of attendees will connect with lawmakers and regulators on key credit union issues. Registration is available online. See the full agenda here.
