NAFCU cancels 54th annual conference

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the high volume of expected in-person attendees, NAFCU has canceled its 54th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo. NAFCU's executives meet daily to discuss the pandemic – including feedback from members and CDC guidance – and are taking steps to ensure credit unions remain safe, operational, and informed of developments.

"Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and attendees at our in-person events amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is a priority for NAFCU," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "With this in mind, and in conjunction with feedback from our membership and CDC guidance, NAFCU has decided to cancel our 54th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo set for July 27-30 in Savannah, Georgia.

"This is not a decision we have made lightly, but one we believe is in the best interest of all those involved due to the conference's expected large in-person attendance," added Berger. “NAFCU remains committed to providing our member credit unions with the same high-level quality educational services they have come to expect from us via other virtual channels."

Registered attendees have been notified of the cancellation via email, which contains additional information on how to transfer conference registrations or obtain a refund, and how to proceed with canceling hotel and flight reservations.

NAFCU is also working to develop webinars and other digital educational opportunities on session topics to continue to provide top-notch educational offerings and training during the coronavirus pandemic (see all upcoming webinars here). The association is also offering virtual and in-person options for several of its smaller-scale 2021 conferences.

The association is working diligently to keep credit unions informed of developments related to the coronavirus and to work with Congress and regulators to ensure the industry's needs are addressed. Access all NAFCU's coronavirus resources here.
