NAFCU bolsters regulatory compliance team

Jan. 7, 2014 - NAFCU has strengthened its regulatory compliance team with the recent hiring's of Brandy Bruyere, Alicia Nealon and Ricardo Pineres as regulatory compliance counsels – action that will enhance the association's "extreme member service" and help members deal with regulations as they continue to roll out.
All three will be responsible for handling regulatory compliance inquiries from member credit unions, authoring newsletter publications and blog posts on issues affecting federal credit unions and presenting on regulatory topics at NAFCU events and conferences.
"Bruyere, Nealon and Pineres are great additions to our already outstanding team, which is dedicated to providing our members with extreme member service," said JiJi Bahhur, NAFCU's director of regulatory compliance. "I am confident that our team is well-equipped to keep the association's members apprised of critical regulatory compliance issues that keep coming their way and to address their questions in a highly responsive, timely manner."
Before joining NAFCU, Bruyere worked as a financial law and policy analyst for the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from American University.
Nealon comes to NAFCU from the NCUA, where she worked in the Office of General Counsel. She holds a law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and a bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's University.
Pineres was previously employed at the Maryland & D.C. Credit Union Association as vice president of advocacy-legislative affairs. Before that, he was director of legislative affairs and grassroots. He is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School and holds a bachelor's degree in political science from James Madison University.
Bruyere and Nealon started their positions in December 2013 and Pineres began yesterday.
