ICYMI: Reg E, BNPL, marketing to Gen Z, and more featured in Nov-Dec NAFCU Journal
Content from the November-December issue of The NAFCU Journal can be viewed anytime on the magazine’s virtual hub, with feature articles on several industry hot topics including Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) programs, Regulation E updates, and marketing to Generation Z.
The cover feature, “Gen Z As a Growth Strategy,” dives into how credit unions can market to younger generations to attract new members. Specifically, the article features insights from several university-adjacent credit unions and reviews their strategies for reaching Gen Z.
The second feature article, “Regulation E Update,” reviews what credit unions need to know about potential CFPB changes to Regulation E – which provides a basic framework that establishes the rights, liabilities, and responsibilities of participants in electronic fund transfer systems. The article also notes that NAFCU will advocate heavily on this topic to ensure any changes do not place the burden credit unions.
Additionally, the final feature of this issue, “BNPL: The Resurgence of Installment Loans,” details the renewed demand for installment payments, what the current regulatory landscape surrounding this topic is, and how credit unions can best utilize these programs.

[02:27] Having a leader who can really communicate cyber risks and understand how ready that institution is to deal with cyber events is incredibly important. [05:36] We need to be talking about risk openly. We need to be documenting and really understanding what remediating risk looks like and how you do that strategically.
