FOMC outlines 2024 meeting schedule

Federal ReserveThe Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the monetary policy-setting arm of the Federal Reserve, has announced its meeting schedule for 2024.

The committee's two-day policy meetings are currently scheduled as follows:

  • Jan. 30-31;
  • Mar. 19-20;
  • Apr. 30 – May 1;
  • Jun. 11-12;
  • Jul. 30-31;
  • Sept. 17-18;
  • Nov. 6-7; and
  •  Dec.  17-18.

The FOMC next meets Sept. 25-26, and two more times before the end of the year: Nov. 7-8 and Dec. 18-19.

Following its policy-setting meeting in July, the FOMC elected to hike the federal funds rate target within the range of 5.25 to 5.50 percent. Minutes from the meeting will be published Wednesday and markets will learn more about the Federal Reserve's potential next moves.
