CFPB’s Chopra to join NAFCU’s Berger for virtual town hall
Registration is now open for credit unions to attend a free, virtual town hall discussion between NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, happening Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. Eastern.
Berger and Chopra will discuss a broad range of issues impacting the credit union industry, including the bureau’s rulemaking on “junk fees,” consumer access to financial records, and oversight of nonbank-covered persons. In addition, they will discuss credit union priorities, such as the need for increased fintech supervision and the importance of community financial institutions to the health of the financial system.
Following the discussion, there will be a live Q&A session. Credit unions will have the opportunity to ask questions live but are encouraged to submit questions during registration; please submit advance questions by Oct. 13.
Register now. NAFCU remains engaged with the CFPB and is monitoring the Supreme Court’s hearing of the CFPB v. CFSA case.
