PMI Cancellation and Delinquency

Question – A member has requested that the credit union cancel his private mortgage insurance (PMI) on his loan when the unpaid principal balance reached 80 percent. The member has been 30 days delinquent in two mortgage payments within a year. Can the credit union decline to cancel the PMI based on these delinquencies?
