A little weekend reading...
Compiled by Anthony Demangone
As you read this, the family will be on its way to Boston for my niece's high school graduation party. Just planning this trip brings me back to family trips when I was younger.Â
Most of those memories are the same. Waking up in the back of a station wagon in my pajamas, surrounded by luggage, trying to figure where I was and how I got there. Â
And with that, let's move on to this week's reading pile.
- Ugh. Ex-math teacher accused of masterminding a $70 million Ponzi scheme based on buying and reselling Hamilton (and other) tickets. (Bloomberg)
- Self-driving cars look to be good for Goodyear. (WSJ)
- On a related note, it could be 10 times cheaper to rent "robo-taxis) than to own a car by 2030. (Fast Company)
- Millennials are still spooked by the great recession. (BI)
- This just in. Teenagers do not understand money. (Bloomberg)
- Pimco sees a 70% chance of recession by 2022. (WaPost)
- American spending on cars and education is trending down, as a total share of total personal consumption. (Bloomberg)
- Cool chart showing world population density. (The Big Picture)
- There is no right answer. (Godin)
- 2.8 billion data records are expected to be breached in 2017. (Dark Reading)
- One in four shopping malls will close in the next five years. (BI)
- The rich are getting more mortgages. The poor? More car loans. (Slate)
Well, that should do it for this week. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
