Never Forget the Power of a Giggle
Written by Anthony Demangone
Yesterday, I had a little April Fool's Day fun with you.
The feedback was fantastic, and a bit surprising. Â It came in two flavors.
- Flavor one: That was the best post you've written!Â
- Flavor two: Boy, I needed that laugh. Â Thanks!
Every week, I try to write on topics that are important to managers and executives. Â But it was a post designed to make people smile that appears to have done the most good.
There's a lesson in all of this. Â
Never underestimate the power of making other people smile.Â
It doesn't have to be humor. It can be a kind word or deed. Or helping someone lift a box. Or lending an ear when a colleague had a bad day.
So, here's the challenge. (Myself included.) Â Let's work to make some smiles out there today.Â
We know what kind of world we want to live in. Do you want more smiles or less? I think many of us, myself included, fall into the trap of trying to "find" that world out there.Â
I think the secret is, not to find that world, but to make it for others.
