A little weekend reading...

Here are a few things that caught my eye this week. Â I hope you enjoy them.
- Must be nice.  JP Morgan is ramping up compliance and risk controls for next year. To the tune of $4 billion. Yes, that last word started with a "b."  5,000 FTEs.  I wonder if the largest banks see compliance complexity as a competitive advantage?  The more complex the rules, the harder it is for smaller competitors (credit unions!) to keep up.
- Seriously? This article highlights 10 ways you can use the iPhone SIRI function to be more productive. Number 8 blew my mind.  You can use SIRI to remind you about things, based on location.  "There are lots of situations you can use location-aware reminders: âÂÂRemind me to feed the fish when I get home,â or âÂÂRemind me to say happy birthday to my boss when I get to work.âÂÂ
- What if surfing were your job?  A healthy dose of perspective from Seth Godin.
- Just how big is Africa? A pretty cool map.
- We're making more babies. (NYT.)
- Treat employees like volunteers. (Leadership Freak.)
- What if we could see the moon rotate? (APOD.)
- Unemployment claims continue to improve. (Calculated Risk.)
- You may never look at your refrigerator the same way again. (Washington Post.)
- Steve, we will miss you. (NAFCU Compliance Blog.)
 Have a great weekend, everyone!
