A little weekend reading...
Written by Anthony Demangone
Here's the best from this week's reading pile.  Enjoy!
- I'm not sure what the future will bring. But some of it will be truly amazing. Watch this video. (Vimeo.)
- The future is now. The top 10 emerging technologies in 2014. (Business Insider.)
- More on the future. Where the good and bad jobs will be in 10 years. (TheAtlanticCities.)
- Divorce. Really? Five odd signs the economy is improving. (Yahoo.)
- An interesting take. American didn't decline. It went global. (Politico Magazine.)
- Uh-oh. Why higher interest rates could depress housing turnover. (WSJ.)
- You are in good company. People who cannot accurately forecast financial markets. (Reformed Broker.)
- I love this thing. The economics indicator dashboard. (The Big Picture.)
- Not sure what I think about this. Rougly half of US farmland is being eyed by private equity.(Climateer.)
- I wonder what this means for us. Jamie Dimon sees huge threat from Silicon Valley. (WSJ)
- Are you a framer, or a polisher? A good read. (Godin.) Another Godin treat? The opposite of why is now.
- People don't like being squeezed. (Darn, I thought I thought of that...)
- Heavy stuff. But good. The six rules of office politics. (The Leadership Freak.)
If you like the Leadership Freak, keep in mind that you can hear him speak at NAFCU's Annual Conference. I won't hit you up to attend the conference today. That shameless plug will happen later. But for now, I have a question.  What is your favorite part of visiting Las Vegas? For me, it is the location of my favorite non-wife date - which happened to be with credit union attorney, and friend, David Reed.Â
We dined at Paris, with the perfect view of the Bellagio fountains. We then grabbed a cab to visit the Pawn Stars store, made famous by the TV show.  We met an amazing bartender who has poured drinks in Vegas since the 1960s. He was a hoot. A bit scary, but a hoot nonetheless.  Mandy seemed a bit jealous when I told her about the evening.Â
Holler if you'll attend our AC. I may still remember where that bartender works.Â
Have a wonderful weekend, guys.Â
