New speakers added to Congressional Caucus lineup; Paul Revere Award submissions now open
NAFCU continues to add to its exceptional speaker lineup of lawmakers and regulators for Congressional Caucus, happening Sept. 10-13 in Washington, D.C. The association has added more voices to the industry’s premier advocacy event, including NCUA Chairman Todd Harper, NCUA Vice Chairman Kyle Hauptman, NCUA Board Member Rodney Hood, and Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Financial Services Graham Steele.
Throughout the event, attendees will have the chance to set up meetings with lawmakers and regulators to advocate for key credit union issues. NAFCU staff will share tips on how credit unions can best advocate for regulatory relief and industry-sought legislation. These vital conversations will help Congress better champion and support credit unions and the 137 million members they serve.
Additionally, submissions for the 2023 Paul Revere Award are now open. This honor is awarded to the credit union advocate of the year and is based on the advocacy outreach made by individual credit union leaders. Submissions are due Friday, Aug. 25, and a winner will be announced during Congressional Caucus.
To be considered for the Paul Revere Award, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- from a NAFCU-member credit union;
- have held at least two meetings during 2022 or 2023 with each of their members of Congress (two senators and one representative);
- have responded to all NAFCU Grassroots Alerts by completing the actions requested, such as phone calls, emails and letters to their lawmakers; and
- have been in regular contact with NAFCU for the most up-to-date legislative and regulatory information.
Credit unions can register for NAFCU’s 2023 Congressional Caucus to engage lawmakers and regulators on a wide range of industry topics and all things happening on the Hill.
Stay tuned to NAFCU Today for updates on the lineup of speakers.
