Master BSA at NAFCU’s upcoming Virtual BSA School
NAFCU’s Virtual BSA School is back again this February to help attendees gain a solid understanding of core Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) knowledge. Attendees will master the tools and foundational know-how to fortify their credit union's BSA/AML program. During the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to earn a prestigious NAFCU Certified Bank Secrecy Officer (NCBSO) designation.
This year, the conference will be held virtually, February 8-10. Register now to claim your spot.
Sessions attendees can look forward to at BSA School include:
- fundamentals of BSA, as well how to identify specific risk categories in products and services, members and customer entities, geographic locations, and more;
- the Member/Customer Identification Program (CIP) basics;
- detailed reviews of specific provisions, including customer due diligence and beneficial ownership requirements;
- filing suspicious activity reports (SARs) and currency transaction reports (CTRs); and
- information sharing and background on the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
For those who have already earned a NCBSO designation, or would simply like to expand upon their mastery of core BSA skills, NAFCU recommends attending the association's Regulatory Compliance & BSA Seminar, happening September 27-29 in Louisville, KY. The BSA track will promote the discovery of the latest BSA challenges, provide knowledge of how to conquer these challenges and afford the opportunity to discuss specific issues face-to-face with industry experts.
Additionally, the Regulatory Compliance & BSA Seminar is the best way for existing NCCOs and NCBSOs to obtain recertification – without retaking exams. Register now and sign up for NAFCU emails to get the updated agenda once it’s released, and more.
