Today: AACUC honoring CU leaders during virtual event
The African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) today will induct five credit union leaders into its Hall of Fame during a virtual event. Register for the ceremony, beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern.
AACUC's Hall of Fame – created in 2008 – honors and recognizes African-Americans who have and are contributing to the credit union movement. Those inducted must have provided more than 10 years of service in the industry, worked to provide financial services for communities, and identified at least four accomplishments which have benefited African-Americans' access to financial capital.
- Anthony Bailey, vice president of Pepco Federal Credit Union;
- Jim Blaine, retired president and CEO of State Employees' Credit Union of North Carolina;
- Gerald Brooks, board chairman of St. Louis Community Credit Union;
- John Pembroke, CEO of CUES; and
- Lynette Smith, president and CEO of TruEnergy Federal Credit Union, a NAFCU-member credit union.
