NAFCU Board Elections
The winners of the 2023 NAFCU Board of Directors elections for the At-Large Director positions are:
- Whitney Anderson, Elements Financial FCU – Indianapolis, IN
- Karen Harbin, Commonwealth CU – Frankfort, KY (incumbent)
Two candidates previously ran uncontested, officially winning their seats:
- Melanie Kennedy, Southwest Financial Federal Credit Union (Farmers Branch, Texas) has won the Southern Region three-year seat; and
- Stephanie Sherrodd, Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (Albuquerque, N.M.) has won the Western Region three-year seat.
All terms will begin after the Annual Business Meeting on June 27, 2023.

March 1 |
Election announcement email/letter to all member chairs, with a copy to the credit union’s president/CEO/manager. |
March 15 |
Deadline for candidate applications to be sent to the Nominating Committee |
March 29 |
Nominating Committee deadline for selecting slate of candidates. |
April 5 |
Nominating ballots sent (at-large & regional); sent to president/CEO/manager. |
April 19 |
Deadline for return of nominating ballots with write-ins (if applicable). Nominated candidates are notified. |
April 24 |
Deadline for candidates to notify NAFCU secretary of his/her willingness to serve. |
April 26 |
Official ballots sent (at-large & regional); sent to president/CEO/manager. |
May 10 |
Deadline for return of official ballots. |
May 17 |
Elected (and non-elected) candidates notified within five business days of the NAFCU secretary receiving the official results from the election teller. |
May24 |
Elections certified within seven calendar days of notification of candidates. |
June 27 |
Official announcement of election results at the Annual Business Meeting held on June 27, 2023, in Long Beach, CA. |
