Cybersecurity headlines risk, reg compliance seminars

Risk and Regulatory compliance seminars head into their third dayCybersecurity challenges – from data privacy to ensuring safe systems – are the focus of NAFCU’s Risk Management Seminar and Regulatory Compliance Seminar today. These issues are top of mind as October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The association's sold-out Risk Management Seminar wraps up today with sessions on business continuity planning, data privacy regulations, and cybersecurity challenges. In addition, those working to obtain the prestigious NAFCU Certified Risk Manager designation will take the certification exam.

Regulatory Compliance Seminar continues today with a well-rounded agenda to provide compliance officers with the basics of cybersecurity, an overview of outsourcing IT, and trends and risks to be aware of – including new privacy laws. Attendees will also learn how to create a culture of compliance at their credit union, new opportunities in lending, and how to correct TRID errors.

New to the Regulatory Compliance Seminar is a comprehensive workshop on home-secured advertising compliance. NAFCU Senior Regulatory Compliance Counsel Jennifer Aguilar and Regulatory Compliance Counsel David Park led the workshop yesterday and will offer another one today. The workshop complements NAFCU's new, member-only Credit Union Compliance Advertising Guide that covers federal regulations that apply when advertising credit union products and services.

Regulatory Compliance Seminar concludes tomorrow; see the full agenda.
