OFAC has made a few headlines recently. First, an Australian bank was hammered with a $5.75 million dollar fine by OFAC. OFAC rarely issues such fines, and this dollar amount does show that OFAC has sharp teeth when it needs to use them. OFAC also issued this fact sheet to highlight the loosening of Cuba-related restrictions. Some of the eased restrictions address remittances.

Regarding flood insurance, financial regulators have issued revisions to their flood insurance questions and answers, and they've proposed some new ones.  OK, this had been kicking around my inbox for a while. But if you work with flood insurance at your credit union, you should take a look at this document.
