NCUA Newsletter; NAFCU Compliance Seminar Agenda Set
Posted by Anthony Demangone
NCUA has released the most recent issue of  The NCUA Report. Here's a peek at what is inside.
- Chairman Debbie Matz defends the NCUA's RegFlex proposal, noting how one credit union that qualified for RegFlex relief regarding fixed assets quickly found itself in hot water. Read NAFCU's Comment Letter on the RegFlex proposal here.
- NCUA will send a DVD to each consumer credit union that will detail the corporate credit union crisis.  The same material will be available for download on  NCUA's website by the end of this month.
- Each issue of the this newsletter provides a high-level overview of recent board actions.  This material is great if you must put together an internal newsletter or board of directors briefing. Â
- NCUA talks about what federal credit unions must consider before using the Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS). Â
- Finally, the newsletter highlights recent changes to NCUA's Region V.  If you are covered by Region 5, I'd glance through this. The article notes a push to hire additional examiners.  Â

The agenda for NAFCU's Regulatory Compliance Seminar is now available. Â Â Â
The conference will be October 12-15, at the Gaylord Texan, which is located outside Dallas, Texas,  It will  kick off with an "NCUA Day," and I think we've put together a solid line-up for the rest of the week.  I'll be the MC, and I'll be joined by one of my colleagues to deliver a daily compliance overview to make sure that we hit all the relevant topics that you need to manage. The seminar is open to everyone, not just NAFCU members.  If you enjoy the blog, I think you'll enjoy the conference.  But please don't take my word.  Look at the agenda, and see if you can chat with someone who attended a NAFCU Compliance Seminar in the past.  Hopefully, we'll see you there!
