Thank You...

Posted by Anthony Demangone

NAFCU's offices will be closed tomorrow and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving.  With that in mind, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for letting NAFCU barge into your office each day through this blog.  The interactions we've had with you over the years have been enlightening, entertaining, and enriching.

I hope you forgive me if there's no compliance information today.  Rather, here's one of my favorite things: a list. Thanks go out to the following:

  1. To NAFCU, for letting me ramble on this blog with few restrictions.  The freedom and flexibility I have makes the blog what it is.  Many thanks, Fred and Dan.
  2. To my regulatory colleagues at NAFCU.  You know their names: Tessema, Sarah, Steve, Olivia, Shari, Dillon, and Carrie.  They are a fun-loving group of motivated people, and I mooch their good ideas whenever I can.
  3. To NAFCU's members.  Without you, there'd be no blog.
  4. To Elizabeth Warren.  It is hard to find material for a daily blog. You are making that easier, day by day.
  5. To the CFPB.  (See #4.)
  6. To ESPN for running SportsCenter at all hours of the night.  It helps to sooth the nerves of a father who is trying to sooth the nerves of his son.
  7. To Mr. Google and Ms. Internet. If you were real people, I'd buy you a beer. The amount of free information that is available today is almost overwhelming.
  8. To the compliance profession, which pushes me to think, organize my thoughts, and provide analysis every day.  I may not know what tomorrow will bring, but I can tell you this: I will not be bored.
  9. To my Mom and Dad.  And my mother's pecan pie. And my father's mashed potatoes.
  10. To Mandy, Kate and Briggs.

Now stop reading this, and do what you need to do, so you can get where you need to go.  Enjoy your family, be safe, watch some football, and let's get back at it on Monday. Until then...thanks.
