Maybe this time is the time...

Over the weekend, the Clan visited Boston. On Sunday, we decided to visit the Boston Tea Party Museum.Â
We missed the last tour, but it was was enough to walk around the very ground where the Tea Party took place in 1773.
I had to admit that it was quite some time since I read about the Boston Tea Party. I knew it was a protest against English taxation. But I missed a few things in my hazy mind over the years.Â
- It wasn't the only protest. In fact, in three other colonies, protesters succeeded in preventing tea from even being offloaded from trade ships.Â
- The protest was fairly large. More than 92,000 pounds of tea was dumped into the Boston Harbor.Â
- There was a direct line from the Tea Party to the Revolution. The Tea Party lead to a harsh English response, which lead to a series of events ending in the Declaration of Independence.
In an age before social media, there was something about the Tea Party that captivated the Colonies. And greatly angered the English. What was it about this protest that caused it to not only go down in history, but to help make it?
I wish I knew.Â
And so it goes with credit unions. Not nearly enough people know about us. Every day, someone walks into a pay day lender when they should be going to a credit union. Every day, people are paying too much in interest. And not earning enough for their deposits.Â
We've searched for a way to captivate America with our story - searching for that message that will finally show them all that we offer.Â
Well, stay at it. Tell the story.Â
Who knows. Â Maybe this time will be the time.
