On the Hill; NAFCU Conferences Deadline

Written by Steve Van Beek

The activity on Capitol Hill is heating up, so I thought I'd highlight a few upcoming hearings.

Exam Fairness and Reform Act.  On Wednesday, February 1st, the House Financial Institutions Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit will hold a hearing on H.R. 3461 - the Financial Institutions Examination Fairness and Reform Act.  NAFCU has backed H.R. 3461 and Jeanne Kucey, CEO of JetStream FCU and NAFCU Board Member, will testify on NAFCU's behalf.  The hearing will feature two panels, one made up of financial institutions and one made up of regulators (including NCUA).

Cordray and Senate Banking Committee.  CFPB Director Richard Cordray will be in front of the Senate Banking Committee today for a hearing on the CFPB's First Semi-Annual Report.  The full report was posted online yesterday by the CFPB and can be accessed here.

Cordray's written testimony can be found here.
