This and That: Compliance Monitor; Current Issues in Credit Unions; Resources for State-Charters; Top of the Hill

Written by Steve Van Beek

This morning we'll hit on a few small tidbits as I know many folks are trying to get back in the swing of things after Hurricane Sandy.

November Compliance Monitor.  The November issue of NAFCU's Compliance Monitor is now available for download by NAFCU Members.

***

Current Issues in Credit Unions.  Episode 75 of this popular credit union podcast is now available.  Episode 75 was recorded live from NAFCU's Regulatory Compliance Seminar in Seattle.  I joined hosts Rob Rutkowski, Hal Scoggins and Katherine Weber in discussing a wide-range of issues impacting (or about to impact) credit unions.

State-Chartered Credit Unions.  We often receive questions on what resources are available to state-chartered credit unions that are not eligible for NAFCU membership.  Well, now we have a dedicated page that helps explain what resources are available.  Of note, the NAFCU Credit Union Compliance GPS, all our conferences, all our webcasts and our online training program are all available to non-NAFCU members.

Annual Webcast Subscription.  As you budget for 2013, keep NAFCU's Unlimited Webcast Subscription in mind.  The subscription provides access to all of NAFCU's webcasts in 2013.  As a bonus, if you purchase by November 16th - you'll receive my September 5th Webcast - Inside the CFPB's Mortgage Proposals - for free.  You can also check out the first 15-minutes of that webcast here.

Top Lobbyists.  My colleagues Dan Berger and Brad Thaler were named as Top Lobbyists once again by The Hill.  This is the tenth year for Berger and fifth for Thaler.  When Dan, Brad and their teams are out on the Hill it is clear the credit union message is being heard throughout Congress.  Great job guys!  Â
