It's a small town...

Written by Anthony Demangone

Last weekend, I ventured up to State College, Pennsylvania to watch Penn State take on Maryland.

More than 100,000 people flocked to Happy Valley to see the game. Easy to get lost in a sea of anonymity, right?

Wrong.

I posted a pic to Facebook, and before I knew it, two of my friends let me know they were at the game. I ran into someone I knew while taking Briggs out to grab a hot dog at halftime. Before the game, I met someone at our tailgate and he asked for my business card at the end of our conversation.

It's always important to behave well. To mind your reputation. To represent yourself well. Because you never know...

At work, we always tell colleagues to mind their Ps and Qs because Washington, D.C. is a small town. Burn a bridge, and you'll live to regret it.

I think now the whole world is a small town. We're superconnected. What we do and what we say can be seen, documented and shared.

So I don't care where you live. It's a small town. Believe me.
