Slow Gas Pumps and Life Lessons

Written by Anthony Demangone

It was a wonderful visit at my sister's house, but the drive home was getting long.

We stopped for gas. And waited. And waited. The gent in front of me had been at the pump for 10 minutes.

Obviously, not on my A-game, I became cranky.

"What are you doing?" I said under my breath. Or so I thought.

"Maybe he has a big gas tank," answered Briggs.

Ah, a seven-year-old giving me a lesson.

But I was still cranky. Really...what was this guy doing? He was taking forever.

Finally, he entered his car and drove away.

As I started to pump, I began to laugh.

I was using the world's slowest gas pump. After five minutes, I had pumped 2 gallons of gas.

The other guy didn't do anything wrong. If anything, his only crime was patience.

Reminder #2,140.

Always seek to understand before you judge.

PS: If you are even in Scotland Neck, NC., you must visit the Sylvan Heights Bird Park. I started a skeptic, but exited a fan.
