Kate and Briggs just turned 8. You may have heard about that...

But this isn't about them. It is more about how quickly children develop.

You go from diapers and babbling, to soccer and homework in eight short years.  

Add another eight years, and you are into algebra and driving. 

The human mind is amazing.

But then something happens. The learning "path" stops. The formal one, anyway.

There's no longer a set, agreed-upon path that everyone follows to develop themselves.  And that's too bad. 

At that point, it is on each of us to push ourselves forward.

With that in mind, I urge you to watch this 8-minute video from John Spence.  (YouTube)

He talks about personal "Personal Kaizen."  Constantly learning and pushing yourself to be better at your job. We showed it to everyone here at NAFCU a few years back, and the effect was amazing. 

We live in amazing times - when the best information is a click away. If you focus constantly learning, the world truly is your oyster.

• NAFCU member-CEO Keith Stone, president and CEO of The Finest Federal Credit Union testified yesterday on behalf of NAFCU on the challenges faced by newly chartered credit unions.
