Winners and Losers

It was one of those conversations. Â Long after the conference had shut down for the day, a few of us chatted over drinks.
We talked about this and that.
We talked about solar energy, and how it could eventually be efficient enough to charge cars.
Wouldn't that be great?
Maybe not, someone said. How many countries depend on oil revenue for just about...well, everything.
Take away oil revenue, and you could have massive social unrest. Economic upheaval. War?
Wow. Hadn't really thought of it that way.
It was one of those great conversations that went on into the night. And it was a good reminder.
Change, for some, is threatening. If I thrive within the status quo, well, let's just keep the party going, shall we?
That's why change is tough. And also a reminder that it is easier to accomplish when everyone sees what is in it for them.
