A closing thought, if I may. We value strange things in our Country. Who can sing well on TV. Or someone who tends to be famous today because of...well, we aren't quite sure. We focus on scandals that amount to nothing, and spend quite a bit of time watching "reality" television.Â
But through the years, there have been young men and women who pushed forward, sometimes on their bellies, while enemies rained fire down upon them. They defended you and me. They answered a call, and their duty to the Flag cut their lives down short.Â
They deserve our attention. Probably more than for just one day.Â
To those men and women, thank you.Â
