A little weekend reading...

Compiled by Anthony Demangone

Good morning! It was a fun week for me. I spoke to two different NAFCU member boards.  We do this stuff all the time - one was for strategic planning, and the other was a BSA/OFAC briefing. Let me know if your credit union would be interested. We'll do our best to say yes.

Now, on to this week's reading pile...

  • Symptoms and diseases. (Godin.) He nails it again. So many times, you'll see people chasing the symptom (sales, member satisfaction) without addressing the disease (a good product, killer service).  I wrote about this a while ago. You want to get a good rep as a pizza shop? Start with...good pizza.
  • Big data is helping Pirates. (Grantland.) The baseball kind.
  • After yesterday's stock market returns, I figure you could use some good new. Nearly 950,000 homes returned to positive equity. (Calculated Risk.) Only 5.3 million more to go...
  • Jimmy John's is the latest retailer to be hit by a breach. (NAFCU Today.)
  • Just why does the NFL have a tax-exempt status? (Reuters.)
  • 16 Reasons People Don't Listen When You Speak. (Leadership Freak.)
  • The Earth at Equinox. (APOD.)
  • How perfectionsim can hold you back. (Inc.)
  • Think media is changing? This is what it is like at a convention of YouTube stars. (Business Insider.)
