Five Reasons I Love MLI
Written by Anthony Demangone
(Editor's note: I'm clearly biased. Â This is a NAFCU conference, and I work for NAFCU. Carry on.)
I've had the pleasure of being a faculty member at NAFCU's MLI conference. Â I've had a blast, and here are a number of reasons why...
- Spence, John. John kicked off the conference, and there's no one better equipped to get you excited about making things better - about leading better.  And since John starts things out, he gets everyone in the right frame of mind to dig in for the rest of the week.
- Glenn and Lee. Two wonderful CEOs "MC" the conference and help answer questions and guide attendees through the evening workshops.  Each has a different leadership style, and the diversity is a great teaching tool.
- Work groups. Attendees are divided into teams, and each team is comprised of folks from different parts of the country, different areas of expertise, and different points of view. Â That effect of the diversity is amazing. Spend enough time with bright folks with different points of view, and you'll come away with some wonderful new perspectives.Â
- White space. Â When is the last time you spent a entire week focusing on leadership, your career, and thinking about ways to improve your credit union?Â
- I love Phily. Â From Monk's Cafe, to Geno's, it was wonderful to visit the City Brotherly Love.Â
Hopefully, we'll see you guys next year.Â
