Legal Separation of Credit Unions and CUSOs

Question - My credit union has a credit union service organization (CUSO). At a recent conference, someone mentioned the danger of someone trying to “pierce the corporate veil” in relation to a credit union and its CUSO. Can you enlighten me on what he meant?
