Supreme Court Rejects ABA Petition, Rules on CFPB Constitutionality, and Accepts Petitions on TCPA, FHFA
The Supreme Court does not always generate news that is of interest to credit unions, but there are a few recent actions for credit unions to make note of. First, in a win for credit unions, the Court refused the American Bankers Association (ABA) petition to appeal its suit challenging NCUA’s 2016 field of membership (FOM) rule. The ABA filed its petition in March 2020 after the DC Circuit Court of Appeals largely upheld NCUA’s rule.
