School Begins; NCUA.GOV's new coat of paint; Prohibition Orders
Posted by Anthony Demangone
And they're off! NAFCU's Regulatory Compliance School begins today. I'll be the MC this week, and NAFCU's compliance attorneys will speak numerous times. If you know someone testing for their NCCO designation, wish them luck! I'll try to include some photos this week from the conference. NAFCU members, please be patient with our response times this week. Your best bet is to email us at compliance@nafcu.org.

NCUA sent me this message via my RSS feed on Friday.
NCUA will be transitioning to a new and improved website designed to be more user-friendly and enhance public access to NCUA data and resources. The NCUA website will be unavailable between 7 a.m. Saturday, March 20th and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20th to facilitate this transition. We apologize for any inconvenience this downtime may cause and look forward to your feedback once the new website is up and running.
I haven't had a chance to check www.ncua.gov out yet, but I'll try to review the changes and let you know what they did. I'm a bit nervous, as the last time they made "improvements," the functionality dropped off a bit for compliance research.

NCUA recently posted their latest batches of "prohiition orders." These orders are a huge reminder why we have internal controls and audits. In one, we see an employee who was alleged to have embezzled nearly $200,000. Â
