Odds and Ends; Happy Birthday, Dear NAFCU Compliance Blog
Here are a few items that I haven't had a chance to get to lately:
- FinCEN just released the most recent issue of its SAR Activity Review. You can access it here. These guidance documents are fantastic reads, especially for Bank Secrecy Act officers.
- FEMA announced that they will extend use of the current Standard Flood Hazard Determination Form. The expiration on the form is 10/31/08.
- FinCEN issued a proposal to simplify and better organize its regulations. FinCEN has been talking about this for some time. I haven't analyzed it yet, but look for more information on this. Perhaps in a BSA Blast...
- According to a HUD witness at a Congressional hearing, look for the final RESPA rule in a few weeks.

Treasury should slow down a bit! It was so busy around here that I missed out on the Compliance Blog's one-year birthday. I'll buy the blog something nice. Perhaps candlesticks. Candlesticks make a nice gift. (Name that movie.) Thanks to all of you faithful readers, and to Treasury, NCUA, FinCEN, the IRS, the Federal Reserve, OCC, the FTC, SBA, and OFAC for supplying the material. If any of you want to send a card, the actual birthday was October 16.
