January NCUA Report.  The latest issue of the NCUA Report is available.  This issue includes the following articles that might be helpful:
- Office of Examination and Insurance Report: Capacity, Clarity and Consistency Guide NCUA Exams in 2013
- Credit Union Membership Growth Accelerates
- Region V Report: Strong Board Leadership is Essential for Successful Credit Unions
- Office of Consumer Protection Report: CFPB Extends Implementation of Remittance Rule
- Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives Report: NCUA To Address Succession Planning for Small Credit Unions
The one that really jumped out at me is the Strong Board Leadership article.  Well, that and the article on NCUA's Exam Focus for 2013.  Both might be good ones to pass along at your credit union. Â

NAFCU's Upcoming Conferences.  Speaking of Strong Board Leadership, make sure your Board is aware of the educational opportunities at NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee conference (May 15-17 in Asheville, NC) and NAFCU's Annual Conference & Solutions Expo (July 9-13 in Boston, MA). Â
Bonus (we can use "bonus" without additional disclosures as we are not a credit union!):  The same promo code that we mentioned last week - NEWYEAR - will work for Board of Directors Conference and Annual Conference.  Just be sure to Register by January 31st using the NEWYEAR promo code and you'll Save $100 (in addition to the early-bird rate)!  Â
