This presentation will begin with a quick overview of U.S. Military Strategic Concerns with respect to Russia and China. It is important for all credit unions to understand where American servicemembers(i.e., credit union members) may go in the event of war/combat operations.
We will then turn to Veteran issues and the changing demographics of our veteran population, many of whom are long-time members of our nation’s credit unions. There are several programs and information sources that provide an abundance of knowledge to help these members.
Finally, we will look at regulatory and legislative changes that will impact both the defense credit union sector and the entire credit union industry. For instance:
- 2023 NDAA Developments and how this affects all credit unions
- Third Party Regulatory Approval (in the 2023 NDAA)
- Changes in the Military Lending Act at the State level (California SB 1311).
- Charitable Donation Accounts and Military Service Organizations -
