The United States is in the middle of an opioid crisis. According to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, approximately 10.3 million people aged 12 or older misused opioids and 2.0 million people had an opioid use disorder in 2018. On average, 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose.
