CDFI Fund addresses application glitches

The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund released a frequently asked questions document Tuesday addressing some technical problems that may have occurred when applicants were applying for 2015 CDFI Program grants.

The document gave solutions to problems, such as applicants receiving error messages while requesting an award range and numeric totals not calculating correctly within the application. The CDFI Fund statement on the technical glitches notes "these problems will have no impact on the scoring or rating of the FY 2015 applications."

The CDFI Fund in September began inviting applications from credit unions and other institutions that qualify as CDFIs for up to $201 million in grants during its fiscal 2015 funding round. Credit unions designated by NCUA as low-income automatically qualify to seek assistance from the CDFI Fund, but they must have CDFI certification to apply.

The deadline for applications for the CDFI and NACA Programs is noon Eastern on Nov. 24, but the CDFI Fund strongly recommends applications be submitted at least three days before the deadline.

The CDFI Fund also reminded applicants of two remaining scheduled webcast opportunities where CDFI Fund staff will be available to answer questions. One webcast will focus on matching funds and the other as a make-up opportunity for all other questions. Both webcasts are scheduled for Nov. 4.
